I literally feel powerless

I just read this.

First thing I've read in months and it took me 2 weeks to get through (reading a little every 3-4 nights).

The only time I've been able to force myself to read in my adult life is
>when I've been in jail with nothing else to do.

I quite enjoyed this, even though I took my time with it.
If I had the patience, I could've easily finished it in an hour or two, but I can't help but feel theres so much more I could be doing with my time.

What would you suggest I read next that isn't too taxing focus or length wise, but is also engrossing enough to compel me to finish?

I cannot be the only one that subconsciously thinks of Joy Division while reading Kafka

Can someone help me understand why this piece of literature is considered so great? I read it and didn't get it. Not that i didn't like, i just thought it didn't even came close to my favorites.

Hey /lit/ what do you think about my idea of a book where it starts with an ancient civilization where their science is so advanced that they discover the ultimate truth about the universe and god and almost start surpassing god itself. But then just before they make the revelation god sinks their whole continent and only 1 person survives, and he reaches the other part of the world which are still too primitive, ancient rome-luke civilizations and shit. Then he decides to try and give wisdom to the people by estabilishing a way of life and making a book for others to follow,but then after his death 200 years later all that way of life stuff and book goes to shit and it's misinterpreted and turned into a savage religion which ends the world by wars.
