I finished reading this a few weeks ago. Literally the most I have ever struggled with a book.
It's disjointed, sexist, Islamophobic and all for no reason because it was written by a guy so close to death.
I can read Islamophobic whatever if there's a point to it but he just made throw-away comments most of the time with no real context. It was sexist because he didn't seem to understand women at all and just made them equal to men in an attempt to be feminist but it fell really flat because he didn't give any woman a single character.

I got all the way through it because I'm against dropping a book on purpose and it was only 200 pages but halfway through I seriously considered dropping it. Has anyone else read it? Can anyone back up my opinions and lay on more layers?
