Not even the best YA ever, but a good book.

Terry Pratchett was good at deconstructing and parodying tropes, His books have that Monty Python type of humor, where the common sense or common experience reasserts itself, and pops the fantasy balloon. Even when the book is full of witches and wizards and an orangutan librarian, people ares till acting just like everyday people that you meet. And when they deal with supernatural elements, they deal with them in a real human way.

Also he has a habit of setting up the funny and suddenly springing the feels.

It's sad so many people will skip Nation because it's a YA book, because the feels man, the feels.

“They didn't know why these things were funny. Sometimes you laugh because you've got no more room for crying. Sometimes you laugh because table manners on a beach are funny. And sometimes you laugh because you're alive, when you really shouldn't be.”
