Thanks for the recommendations. I have been reading other saints trying to recreate the feeling I got reading "City of God" but most aren't as good of writers as him even if the knowledge they are putting down is enlightening. I just finished "The Interior Castle" by St. Teresa of Alvia and I think she is my second favorite so far. I just started reading the ICS collection of St John of the Cross and it seems pretty good so far. I know he was highly educated like St Augustine so I have high hopes I am just on his poetry right now and I like it even though I am not too into poetry.
