Anyone read this fucking book? Is it worth reading, is it any good? I've been assigned it for a class. The last book I was assigned was horseshit, so I'm going to assume this one is too, unless someone here vouches for it.

Thoughts on Toni Morrison and her work?

I picked this up at the library on a whim and it was really good. Which of her other books would be a good next step?

You can't have a thread about Africa without acknowledging the diaspora of Africans, especially those living in America. This reading here is highly recommended, Nobel Prize-winning, and one of my personal favorite reads involving the struggles of African Americans for identity in a post-slavery world.

This is really a surreal read, you'll find actual history, the living African-American communities mixed in with the mythologies found in African culture, it's like entering a into a hidden world you didn't know existed. Definitely worth a read.
