Unless you start beating up loved ones (or anybody, for that matter) or drive around drunk and do other stupid shit, why stop? You're already dependent on "substances", like the air you breath, the water your body needs, the food you need to prevent starving to death. You depend on your fingers to write/type, you depend on your neighbours not to fuck loudly while you try to concentrate etc.
Some people need a sugar flash to write, some need a certain type of music, some need a special blanket on their lap and whatnot. Some drinks is not the unusualest thing to "depend" on.
