So let me get this right, if you are an incel aspiring writer you have two options:

1. Pessoa-esque introvert writing about detachment, depression, ennui, internal struggles, abstract concepts.

2. Zorn-tier seething incel writing about loneliness, frustrations, mental illness.

Is there a third way for incels who want to write about things other than the above? Or is having sex and forming some kind of romantic relationship necessary to make it into the big leagues?

Is an author less interesting or worthy if he / she hasn't experienced much in life, relatively speaking?

One of my favourite writers is Fernando Pessoa, who didn't as far as I know live a very exciting life. But most writers seem to place a lot of emphasis on experiencing the world as much as possible, be in the way of having many sexual partners, travelling, having a wide friendship group, experiencing a lot of jobs, and so on. They in turn make me feel anxious about my own writing, as I know I couldn't describe a relationship or anything like that in the way they could. As an isolated, depressed hermit I don't know if I'm worthy of writing considering how little first-hand knowledge I have of life.

Any thoughts on this issue? Generally would appreciate some feedback.

Why was he so self-absorbed?

Why not just try smiling more, being more talkative to your work colleagues, exercising and putting himself out there on the dating scene?

I'm really not sure if there is any actual public benefit in writing a 400+ book about how self-absorbed you are. The only people who gain from reading it are those who feel their self-imposed isolation is justifiable afterwards.

Was he gay or just incel?

What is this even supposed to mean?

Does /lit/ know Fernando Pessoa? There must be very few people who speak Portuguese here, but I'm sure he's been translated to English.

I would recommend you to read The Book of Disquiet, because it isn't poetry (I dislike reading translated poetry) and I think it captures a good deal of /lit/'s feels.

Read this translation of one of his most famous poems, The Tobacco Shop (it's in free verse, so it feels more like prose and it's good even in English): http://www.ronnowpoetry.com/contents/pessoa/TobaccoShop.html

I'm nothing.
I'll always be nothing.
I can't want to be something.
But I have in me all the dreams of the world.
