Do you plan on attending church, OP?
That was always my biggest obstacle with Christianity that I still struggle with, I hate how churches often seem to undermine the spirit of worship with petty personal bullshit

I'm not Catholic but I do identify as Christian partially because I was raised that way and partially because it pisses people off when I use the Bible as a reason why you shouldn't kill babbies and live like a hedonist

The introduction and the part about flowers later on are incredibly dry, yes.
However, it really picked up for me when it started on Jason, Theseus, Hercules, and the Trojan War.
My advice is to take it slow or hell, even skip ahead to the stuff you want to read about if you're not having a good time. Once you hit the good stuff that I've mentioned above, any big references are mentioned and tell you where to go find them in the book.

I used to be a big purveyor of audiobooks but as I've delved into more difficult texts I find them good for retention of something I'm already familiar with e.g. something I can put on when I'm ready to sleep.
I absolutely loathe people who use them as background noise.

Books about the importance of communication, being able to converse as to reach a compromise between both parties. I don’t think it’s a radical idea that if there’s is total disagreement communication can’t happen. Today we should be able to understand and compromise but we are being to taught to find the enemy and take them down. Any books you know that promote dialogue over debate, something that would win the war against hate
