The few girls who figure more regularly in my life don't really inspire me to dizzying heights, though one has read my stuff and liked it, though she's a near-incomprehensible analytic philosophy major, and I just like beautiful things.

People are free to read whatever they want but the extremes of defensiveness these people go to whenever anyone lodges the least bit of criticism against YA lit is ridiculous.
