Just because they initially rejected it doesn't mean it isn't publishable. A lot of your problems could be to do with formatting and structure rather than content itself. It may even be that you've sent it to the wrong journal for the topic of the essay. That said, journals typically want something original, so if your thesis is derivative you'll have a hard time getting it published anywhere. You'll find it especially difficult if it is primarily exegetical. I would also recommend trying to find a journal which has an anonymous review process (not anonymous peer-review, but that the editor of the journal only sees your name and credentials after it has gone through the entire review process) as some editors put a lot of weight in qualification and will gatekeep non-PhD's.
My advice would be to float the idea of publishing it with with your professor or advisor (if you haven't already) and see what they say. Not only can they give you a frank evaluation of your chances, but they can also advise you on the process and how to properly edit and structure it for publication. That's basically how i got my first article published, by my professor suggesting i make an essay into an article and helping me get it to the quality and format needed for the submission. Even after all that it took over half a year of back-and-forth revisions with the editors and referees before it was published, so don't think you'll be done with it on initial acceptance. It's exhausting and by the time you get it published you won't want to touch it ever again.
Don't resort to self-publishing it on ResearchGate or something just yet, explore your options more thoroughly.

The same reason Mill is—he's the origin of the hegemonic belief-system of the anglo world and beyond. You find him agreeable because you were raised in a society where his most salient points are agreed wisdom.

Most people do not believe there is a platonic realm of forms.
If there is no realm of forms, there is no form of the good.
if there is no form of the good then the philosopher king is not ordering the city according to it.
If the philosopher king is not ordering the city according to it, the position loses its raison d'être.
therefore, if you don't believe in a platonic metaphysics the philosopher king loses its raison d'être.
Without this, the philosopher-king simply becomes an enlightened despot. And the justification for an enlightened despot is quite different, generally more prudential than categorical.
