Awesome. We don't get enough girls being put to their places in fantasy.

What's the book? Is it graphic and explicit? Does this sort of treatment continue in the rest of it?

>All that is gold does not glitter,
>Not all those who wander are lost;
>The old that is strong does not wither,
>Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
>From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
>A light from the shadows shall spring;
>Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
>The crownless again shall be king.

Always chills my spine. Works great even translated to my language:

>Ei kaikki kiiltävä kultaa lie
>Vaeltaja ei eksy jokainen
>Ei vahvalta vanhuus voimia vie
>Syviin juuriin ei ulotu pakkanen.
>Tuli tuhkasta jälleen pilkahtaa
>Valo varjoista syttyvä on
>Terä miekan murtunut yhteen saa
>Ja kruunataan kruunuton.

It's one of the best fantasy ever written. It should be considered borderline criminal how most people nowadays just read Sanderson's churned-out anime bullshit and idolize Patrick Cuckfuss's Mary Sue, while the true classics such as this forever languish in oblivion.

Hero's Journey is always a good way to start when you aren't yet experienced enough to write your own plots. That way you can more or less ensure that the core of the story is all right, and it frees your mind and focus into the characters and the setting, things that are unique to you and to no one else.

Later on, once you feel more confident, you can write something more plot-based where the characters are thrown into the maelstorm of a bizarre and unpredictable tale. But don't rush things.
