depends on reading material.
sometimes i'll plow through 3-5h with only water and bathrom breaks;
most often, starting off and remaining undistracted in context and thought is crucial
the mandatory breaks are annoying when you're into the thing already (s. deep work), the quantity of time you can focus, and the quanity you should avert your attention vary thoughtout the day and depend on other circumstances too.
best to either constantly test different amounts and see what works depending on cirucmstance; or just use deep work techniques- ie, wo/ reading the book, just do one thing for hours and then change context
