Hey /lit/

It seems sometime during the day (or possibly my life) I was hit with a retardation stick because I've been staring at this ridiculously short horror story for some time and I can't figure out what the fuck's going on. It is, btw, not a creepypasta. It was published in the latest Mommoth Book of Best New Horror:

>IT WAS LAST week he moved his family into the next cottage. I’d asked him if he needed a hand with the luggage. He shook his head and smiled. Just glad to get some peace and quiet, he laughed, hauling the bulging suitcases from the car.

>We could see them inside whenever we walked by: the wife and kids slumped in the same chairs, like mannequins; the husband moving about, his form rendered ghostly by the steamed-up window pane and the flies bouncing off its surface.

>At the time, it never occurred to me.

Help, please? In the manner of Chesterton's paradoxes, I feel the answer is so obvious I can't see it.

Dear /lit/

I'm looking for a title of a book. I read it when I was in high school. It was a collection of short stories. I believe the first short story was either titled "zeitgeist" or at least partained to or at least mentioned "zeitgeist". The person who recommended the book to me mentioned that the author was a feminist. The name of the Author may be Barbra.

before you say something no I can not go ask the person who recommended the book to me.

If you could help me many internetz will be awarded

A blessing indeed... Any time for oneself can be seen as an opportunity for introspection, an opportunity to develop ones own personal beliefs, interests, or ability to give oneself indentity.

When I was single I had what seemed an excessive amount of time for my own thought, but since I started what can be considered an extremely devoted relationship it seems that I have little to no time where my thoughts are my own. I really do love my girlfriend, but I do miss a degree of the amount of my own time I was given. I can already feel myself losing a sight of my own identity as I develop what I consider a dependency on her for a certain amount of who I am.

Is it a good thing...?

Hey /it/. I want to start reading books. See, I was never really a fan of books, however I have read some in the past because of school, of course... I've always read information, like history or wiki pages. I'm the kind of person that would rather read mind fucks, facts and information rather than fiction or a story. Don't get me wrong though, there are some stories and regular o' books I've liked, but it's not exactly what I want to read.

Books that could help me become a better person by either picking girls up to just learning how to do something new. Books that would just make my mind become a full of fuck. Books that would teach me something historical or interesting. Books just full of information... Those are the kind of books I'm looking for. Would anyone be kind enough to recommend me something?

>it's starring the bitch from Twilight

Wait, what? How is this even possible? The only remotely good female part in the whole book is the mexican gal that the narrator falls in love with for a while. Unless they are completely revamping the book and changing shit around for a modern audience in which case

Here's a present, /lit/-

It's called 'Money Lessons from 11 Classic Novels' and I've never raged at misinterpretation as much as I did while reading this. Cheers!
