Buenas tardes /lit/landia.

So you probably don't remember me, being that I'm not a tripfag, nor do I incessantly post and talk about my novel. But approximately three months ago I posted a little taste of the novel that I was then working on. I was expecting the usual responses. Hate, some more hate, pretty much all hate. But there were some kind anons who held the belief that my work was in fact not all that shitty. Oh how wrong they were. Here is the thing. I ended up finishing my novel, and I submitted it to a few low-level publishers. I was rejected for the most part. But to my surprise I received a letter of interest from one of these publishers. They were interested in printing my book. The thing is....Well let me post the excerpt that I posted that night...

"He realized he would never again see her. Their eyes would never again look upon each other with that loving light that illuminated both their lives. Their story had come to its end in a manner of speaking. The world had witnessed their love, their hate, their heat, but as with all beautiful things in the universe, it was not to last. So they embraced for one last time, in a way which cannot be described, it was a love capable of yielding diamonds."

THEY WANT TO MARKET IT AS A FUCKING ROMANCE NOVEL. Now this was never intended as a romance novel, ever, not in a million years did I envision my work being marketed to old lonely ladies of the night in search of paper love. So now I can sell my soul and make some meager money, or keep mi dignity. That is my story /lit/.

I may very well be following in the footsteps of Nicholas Sparks.

I don't know why I posted this in the Borges thread. My apologies. It's ironic, that I post my depressing confession in a thread dedicated to my favorite writer.
