How do I get into writing my own shit? One of my main problems is that I don't know in what person to write, or to write in past or present tense.

Also, after I've already written my shit, how do I get others to read it?

How happy is /lit/ about the rise of the far-right in Europe?

1- Very
2- Super
3- Mega
4- Extremely

Do you think Jobbik, Golden Dawn, Front National, Ukip and the other crazy cats are super heroes, or just regular heroes?
Extrapolate your opinions.

/lit/ related because you can read about this stuff, that's how I learn about it

I found this book. Here's the blurb. Can you help me make sense of what it is actually about:

International Relations, Meaning and Mimesis is an innovative assessment of the uses of theory in making sense of international politics, opening up new pathways to thinking about the basics of the study area.

Insights drawn from an interdisciplinary corpus of critical scholarship are synthesized and brought to bear on key concepts such as sovereignty, the state, peace, law, justice, ethics, and supranationality. The mainstream characteristically dismisses the narrativity that accompanies these concepts as derivative, tending to treat meaning attributable to them as static. The work shows how problematic this disdain of mimesis (exchange, reproduction, imitation) is and how this mindset effectively incapacitates conventional theorizing in both predicting phenomena and providing a normative vision. Integrating the study of international politics into debates in the wider academia over meaning and mimesis, this ambitious work is fluent and accessible at the same time, with exceptional lucidity in presenting difficult philosophical notions.

A series of radical positions advanced in the book on theory and methodology not only address and call to account the mainstream imagination on international politics but also outline the implications of this critique for a host of specific issue areas, including peace research, normative theories, international law, and European studies.

I'm looking for an article or newspaper/magazine piece that told a story.. something about winter.. something about a famous person. It was from the '60s. I think it was some kind of famous, towering paradigm of what a great article is. Someone mentioned it on here a while back IIRC.

Please, can anyone tell me what it was? I know the details are hazy.

The amount of autism this thread is ginormous.

Your brain works better in love. You're more positive, fluid, smarter.

Loveless, friendless dudes are literally stupefying themselves with brain- cell -depleting isolation.

hey /lit/ebulbs, I dont really ever post here, but I'm currently reading Catcher in the Rye, and was just wondering this. Does the plot get any better? I'm roughly 30 pages in and it just seems to be Holden rambling about things that don't seem important.

In the middle of the journey of our life, I came to myself, in a dark wood, where the direct way was lost. It is a hard thing to speak of, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood was, so that thinking of it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death: but, in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there.

I cannot rightly say how I entered it. I was so full of sleep, at that point where I abandoned the true way. But when I reached the foot of a hill, where the valley, that had pierced my heart with fear, came to an end, I looked up and saw its shoulders brightened with the rays of that sun that leads men rightly on every road. Then the fear, that had settled in the lake of my heart, through the night that I had spent so miserably, became a little calmer. And as a man, who, with panting breath, has escaped from the deep sea to the shore, turns back towards the perilous waters and stares, so my mind, still fugitive, turned back to see that pass again, that no living person ever left.

After I had rested my tired body a while, I made my way again over empty ground, always bearing upwards to the right. And, behold, almost at the start of the slope, a light swift leopard with spotted coat. It would not turn from before my face, and so obstructed my path, that I often turned, in order to return.

The time was at the beginning of the morning, and the sun was mounting up with all those stars, that were with him when Divine Love first moved all delightful things, so that the hour of day, and the sweet season, gave me fair hopes of that creature with the bright pelt. But not so fair that I could avoid fear at the sight of a lion, that appeared, and seemed to come at me, with raised head and rabid hunger, so that it seemed the air itself was afraid; and a she-wolf that looked full of

Why do so many men obsess about women? Honestly, I think men degrade women by portraying them as blightering idiots or as emotional caring meatflowers they can pound the sh** out of. He just wants you for your body, pretty meatflower, lol.

MY UTOPIA
My Utopia is a perfect place. For me because I can do what ever I want, and I can play all the video games I want. Because I own it and it is really cool in my utopia. Because everybody must have a gun and must have a rx8 has a car.
Because there awesome but I’m cool because I’m the only one that has a broncho has my car. It’s a big massive truck that can crash into anything. And everybody in my town have spaceships and planes. So if another utopia try to come down to my utopia we will destroy them.
And I have a zombie army there locked in a cage rite now. But were planning to drop the army off to other peoples utopia. And destroy them all because I want to have the only utopia. But what’s really cool is that I got a movie theatre with all types of movies in it.
And that’s where I play all my video games. And my swimming pool is bigger than my house I got a massive diving bored. One time I jumped so high that I went to the utopia’s atmosphere. And it was cool because when I was going down I caught on fire. And landed in the pool and splashed all the water out of it but I told my slaves to refill it and they did.
Because the law says you haft to listen to the kings order and if you do not you get the death penalty. And you get that if you litter too but right now I’m in nuclear warfare with another utopia I dropped a atomic bomb on them a couple days ago. And they haven’t fired back yet they must be dead my utopia is fun but we are in war. So we cant have to much fun with this war but were 32 planets down from being the only utopia in the universe we have come to far for this so we

Hey guys, i need a title for a poem i wrote - I know it isnt anything special, it's just a normal school assignment (had to be a romantic or post-modern poem). English isnt my main language either, so if you spot any obvious errors.. yea

Any ideas? Poem:

The constant drive of the burning forge
A product from beneath the searing gorge
The hellish remnants of most ancient lore
War at its core

The darkest essence of the mortal world
A chance for blackened hearts to unfurl
The earth dimmed by sword and spear
Fear ever so near

The uneasy tremble felt in the ground
A primordial omen we try to drown
The bleakness and bareness of human mind
Confined to be blind

The intimate reality we refuse to see
A glimpse of a world yet free
The power of mountain, forest and sea
We can never decree

The staggering hope always followed by dawn
A beacon of light urges me on
The depressing reminds me of the pressing
The blessing of expressing
