Let’s talk about historical literature.
I’m interested In reading Gibbon’s Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. But I’m confused on whether I should read about the Roman Republic and empire leading up to the point where Decline begins. If so, does /lit/ have any recommendations? I am thinking about reading Suetonius’ Twelve Caesars, but I’m interested in a book that covers all of the Roman emperors.
