I don't get why do you hate the founding father of western philosophy.

What has this old man, who died more than 2 thousands years ago, said that still to this day triggers most of this board?

I need help. I have a 5 page essay due by 5PM tomorrow, and I don't know wear to start. Can someone help me? It has to be a response to the following quote, and we can agree or disagree:

“For Aeschylus and the other poets, the good life, happiness and its attendant satisfactions, is profoundly fragile. Its tenuous foundation can without warning, often through our own weakness, be torn down leaving us in misery among the ruins. Plato rejects this view of human achievement and hopes to ground the good life on a firmer foundation, completely beyond the reach of contingency and the rule of our darker destructive passions. Only when our city and our soul are well ruled will we be free from despair. Plato’s vision has glowing optimism precisely because he thinks such safety within reach.”

I will buy you ANY game on Steam under 30$ provided you help me with my assignment. You don't need to do the work for me, just maybe give me some links to info about the quote above and maybe give me some tips? How would you start the essay? Thank you guys.

>There's a difference between not working and leeching off your loved ones and families due to your own sloth.

But leeching off of the state/city/plebeians is okay, right?

What do you think of Plato's definition of Eros? Is it definitely the superior concept? Is it correct to consider sex as part of Eros?

So where exactly with the Greeks do I start? Plato? Where do I go from there?
