Where should I start with him /lit/? Did you like reading his works? Is he easier to understand than Evola?

A thing I notice is that the remaining pieces of the former socialist/communist world and their infrastructure has transitioned towards a more traditionalist orientation.

-The Soviet CCCP had a split between the social democratic reformists under Gorbachev and traditionalists/conservatives that revised Stalin as a national hero in Russia, the latter group became the basis for Dugin and Putin

-The CCP in China has presented itself as a conservative force in the world and it brags about willingly banning and censoring things it considers culturally harmful to the population in recent years (rap music, feminism etc.)

-North korea presents no explanation

-Socialists in the middle east have taken a direction towards reactionary politics. Gaddafi was basically an ML who ignored the atheism of marxist-leninist politics, assad is conservative, Iran has several features from ML countries like the councils, etc

-socialist paramilitaries across the world like sein-fein have absorbed reactionary influence

-the South American communist/socialist zeitgeists are less reactionary in comparison but they're still socially conservative compared to the constant commodification of countries like today's America.

Is there a reason for the phenomena above?

> What men call chance is simply their ignorance of causes; if the statement that something had happened by chance were to mean that it had no cause, it would be a contradiction in terms.

Why is this guy so popular here? It's not just Guenonfag that spams him. His ideas are shit. This retard, along with his disciples Schuon, Nasr, and others, thought basic scientific theories like evolution were false. Grade A brainlet. We can forgive him because he lived in a time when humans did not know such things were brute facts, but his followers know just how dumb it is to hold such views today.

IF THE CONCEPT OF SPACE IS RELATIVE THEN THE CONCEPT OF SPACE ISN'T TRUE.

IF REALITY IS RELATIVE THEN DIFFERENCE COULD NOT EXIST

SPACIAL MEASUREMENTS ARE FALSE PRESUPPOSITIONS OF A QUALITY; A DISTINCTION, WHICH DOES NOT IN TURN ACCORD TO REALITY AS IT MAY IF IT WERE VALID.

yes, Guenon-fag got to me. I've been reading the Introduction to the Hindu Doctrines. It's a little difficult to follow how Guenon means that intellectualism relates to the metaphysical, but even more so.. I am somewhat versed in Islam, and on some gut level I maybe understsand what Guenon means by a difference in metaphysical doctrine between islam an hinduism being that Islam relates to the metaphysical in a sentimental way, whereas the Gita for instance is more purely intellectual. It is somewhat of a point of pride, and very much a recurring theme in Islam that it speaks to the heart, not the intellect, and that it doesn't present an argument so much as it simply aims to resonate with the underlying nature, which is then probably prior to any arguing. I can somewhat see the difference I think Guenon is alluding to.

What I don't really understand is why he takes this sentimentality to be the explanation for why Islam can have an extensive moral system. He seems to imply that the moral system is *actually* divorced from the metaphysical, but that they are bridged by the fact that both strike the same sentimental chord, while the hindus don't have this sentimentality and therefore can have no religious moral law. They can have a law, it seems, but not one that is anchored in and pointing toward metaphysics, since the relationship to the metaphysical is somewhat pure, it's really lacking in mystique. You can somewhat develop the method of the Gita without any appeal to God, but the same is not exactly true of Islam I don't think.

But why would this preclude the possibility of a religious moral law? Maybe I do get it and just need to think on it a little, but in the meanwhile I invite you discuss any and all things relating to anything at all of the above.

Honest question this isn't a meme. Is there anyone in the modern world as smart as Rene Guenon? Is it even possible for a thinker like him to come from the world as it exists today?

I get a surge of anxiety when I think about how there is no one in the modern age that has access to a similar classical education as Rene Guenon. An entire lifetime dedicated to the study of spiritual traditions. I miss him.

Is it worth getting into the Traditionalist School as a black person? The ideas interest me quite a bit, but I can't help but notice that most discourse about the ideas online are primarily from a European and white nationalist perspective. I feel like this sort of philosophy is open enough to include other cultures, and this sort of European-focused discussion might have primarily come from Evola's more race-focused works, but I'm still unsure. I will probably start reading about it regardless, but I'd like to get an idea on this.
