About the erotic.

is there anything truly worthwhile, literature wise, to be found here? I'm thinking of de Sade, Bataille, and so on. Are they simply famous because of the matter of subject (not unsimilarly to Fifty Shades...), or is it something worth looking into, if I have such lusts? I have read nothing in the genre. Maybe it is futile, considering all the readily available hardcore fetish pornography that exists in this day and age.
