Because Americanism and late capitalism have shrouded the rootedness of the human condition with lies of freedom and the end of history.

Even Europe is losing its connection to the past. The rise of new populist Fascism on the old continent is symptomatic of this.

This is the face of the enemy.

So Fukuyama uses Hegelian dialectic to explain "the end of history", which is basically the victory of Liberalism. But how exactly is this dialectic?

The thesis is Liberalism, the antithesis is Totalitarianism/Communism. But the victory of Liberalism is not exactly a synthesis of these two, as the thesis remains in its original form. Can somebody explain? I'm a bit dumbfounded here.

>Also, Fukuyama/Posthistoire general discussion.
