not good looking, just downright fucking evil looking. like you'd go to his house to have dinner and discuss literature and end up dismembered in a bathtub in his cellar.

Aside from scanning through 'Philosophy for Dummies', I know pretty much nothing in regards to philosophy and its history. I desire to check out Nietzsche and Battaile. Are they difficult to read for novices? Should I read up on Plato and Descartes first?

I've already attempted Nietzsche's 'Twilight of the Idols' and 'Beyond Good and Evil', but could not comprehend what the hell was going on about. I've been recommended Thus Spoke Zarathustra as a more-adequate starting point, but I'm pretty hesitant..
