May any of you suggest to me any African literature? Fiction or non-fiction, preferably about tribal life.

/lit/, please help me understand Things Fall Apart. I mean, it was a great read, beautifully written, but it just didn't seem very thematically cohesive to me. I mean, if it is supposed to be an anti-imperialist novel, why is the Igbo culture portrayed so negatively sometimes? I mean, they have so many backwards ideas on gender, and there's the whole thing about killing the twins.
