There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about...and that is NOT being talked about.

I want to read some Oscar Wilde. I figure I'll get bored around ~500 pages. What is the best combination of stuff to get to 500?

So /lit/ I'm writing a short story for a university assignment. The story is a follow up from 'The Importance of Being Ernest'. I've got just one problem, what do I name Jack and Algernon? Obviously at the end of the play Jack finds out his name is Ernest and Algernon plans on being christened 'Ernest' (I think that's right anyway). Should I be calling Jack 'Ernest' and Algernon 'Algernon', or just leave their names as Jack and Algernon? This has been mindfucking the shit out of me.

>He also has a strange face
I was saying this the other day. Something about his mouth implies the existence of tusks. In my mind, Wilde is an anthropomorphic boar.

As a whole, which is the better novel: Wuthering Heights or The Picture of Dorian Grey?

Why are "sensitivity" and "creativity" considered feminine traits?

Why is it seen as unacceptable for men to possess these traits?

Pic related, a fag.

Hey guys, I'm a none native English speaker and I would like to hear some recommendations of books which reading them will aid to expand my vocabulary vastly. I am already going to read Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" - but I would like some more books to add to my to-read-list.

Also, please be it interesting books - and sorry for (if) my bad grammar.

Thanks in advance.

Oscar Wilde "It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances."

he also wrote "Only the shallow know themselves"

and "It is only the superficial qualities that last. Man's deeper nature is soon found out"

These all make me somewhat confused and troubled, what does he really mean?
