This is /lit/ so I don't think literary comics are an issue.

Bump. The Incal was not only the first comic book, but the first book. That's why things like the bible, tarot cards, and Frank Herbert are based on it. They tried to make a movie but decided it was too perfect to be adequately filmed so they took a few seconds of the first scene and expanded into all 3 star wars films. Might want to take it a chapter at a time, I read two chapters once for a dare and was tripping pretty hard the rest of the night, fairly sure I achieved Moksha, Gnosis, and general sagelike wisdom from the ending.
