Because it's kinda common sense. Other than some out-of-context quotes by Augustine (which make more sense when you realize he was influenced by the Stoic and Neoplatonist schools of thought), there really is no historical support for Protestantism because it arose out of 1500s Germany/France/England, which couldn't never understand the Bible properly on it's own due to each of those nations not speaking Latin nor being in an environment remotely like Antiquity. All the Church Fathers lived within a timeframe where they all could understand each other since they had a lingua franca of Latin and while not the same culture for 600 years, a similar enough one so that they could understand linguistic and cultural peculiarities that only they had understanding of. When Protestants say the Church Fathers thought like they do or said things similar to what the Reformers did, they are talking about a different group of people more similar to them than the actual Church Fathers were. It's on par with Mohammed trying to insert cultural and linguistic ideas from 600s AD Arabia into what he thought of Jesus even though Jesus lived in the 1st century AD Judea, which is an entirely different culture. You are never going to get an accurate picture of anything if you do that. All you are going to do is deceive yourself really. Also nice numbers
