I'll tell you the entire plot of Waldun's stupid book

> Arthur Forrest is a talented writer
> no, talented isn’t the right word, it’s hard to describe how fucking smart and knowledge and eloquent and well-mannered and insightful and clever and refined and brilliant he is, but you’re reminded of it every page in learned disguise
> side characters are Mr. Morton, a retired literature teacher
> Gretel, Mr. Morton’s stupid but pretty niece
> Felix, generic guy who likes literature
> Timur, groveling sidekick who kisses Arthur’s ass all the time
> Arthur has been writing his first novel for five years but he never feels like it’s good enough
> he meets Veda, some hot chick
> he’s like Goethe’s Werther, he’s inspired by his love for her and he starts writing his novel for reals
> he, Felix, Gretel, and Tim spend 70% of the novel going to bookstores and cafes and namedropping famous authors and their books, giving Arthur more inspiration to write his book
> climax: Arthur finally finishes his novel, it’s called The Learned Disguise
> he tells Veda, but she dumps him, I think she found a richer, more handsome boyfriend
> however, his friends all read The Learned Disguise and it’s a great book, an instant classic, the pinnacle of the English language
> Arthur realizes that despite the loss of romantic love, he still has supportive friends and the confidence of knowing that he has finally completed his first, but not last, novel
> also Mr. Morton died and left Gretel a huge inheritance, so maybe in the sequel Arthur will marry her and they’ll be rich together
> the end

There, now you don't have to read it
