herbert is a fellow head injury enjoyer. i first read dune when i was like 9 or 10, i reread it when i was about 15, and then in my senior year of high school i reread dune and finally read the entire original series of books. i made the mistake years later of reading the series again and wanting more i made the mistake of reading all the "other" dune books that his retard son had written, luckily i seem to have purged most of my memory of that trash. when i heard there was going to be a new dune movie i promised myself i wouldnt watch it and reread the original series again. it wasnt really until this most recent rereading that i truly realized how much influence the dune series had on me, more so than just about any other book or series, even more than the lord of the rings or howard.
