What are some books set in Ancient Rome you'd recommend? Preferably fiction with the historical figures accurately portrayed.

I taught myself Latin from Duolingo and a few books from the library but it's totally useless.
Everything worth reading has already been translated to English and it's faster and clearer to just read those translations.
It'd be even more of a waste to have learned Greek.

What sacred texts were originally written in Latin? Were all Roman sacred texts translation from Greek or did they write their own stuff too? Why did Romans larp as Greeks so much literarily speaking?
