You might be a good writer. You may be able to inspire, peak the interests and raze emotions of anyone who gives you a chance - But just as much as you may be able to do any of those things, you will be under-appreciated. Most writers are.

Don't let that stop you. Pursue your dreams but alter them accordingly!

Collaborate with film, music, social media. Sure it's not what you had in mind, but it's going to get your work appreciated, and is it really that different from a novel? Not really. A film is just a live-action novel. The difference is a film appeals to a wider audience, because when there are already so many books written by the greats, who apart from a literary fanatic is going to make the time to read your work?
