Why it is possible to believe in immortality without the existence of souls,god etc. (Though property dualism is not rejected)
1 - If we take as an assumption that the states of the brain determine conscious states, we have two possibilities.
1-1: Every consciousness is equal, therefore, when you die, you're "reborn" in other body, everyone is equal.
1-2: There's a pattern of information that determines every kind of conscience in your brain, like a fixed structure that's constant in your brain
2 - IF we take 1-2 to be true, it would not be unreasonable to suppose that someone is going to be born with the same informational entity inside their heads.
3- Therefore consciousness is immortal. (At least until the end of time).
