Oh my bad anon, I thought you meant suffering in general, not just suicide. Suicide figures in to Dostoevsky’s novel Demons through what I consider to be the most interesting character ever written. Crime and Punishment also deals with suicide. It figures into his other works but not as prevalent as those. The Fall by Camus deals with suicide as well. One of the problems with suicide in literature is that it’s generally a plot device rather than an actual exploration of the perspective of a suicidal person. Check out the movie Bokeh, that explores the perspective of suicide really well.
