to counter anon i'll tell say that sometimes literature does work like that, but not with munro, with her you can start anywhere. if you don't like her worst stories, you probably won't like her best

Dear Life works as a fairly obvious jumping-off point, i didn't adore it but it'd work well for an exposition. Hateship, Friendship is probably the most munroesque thing she ever wrote. her earlier stuff is really rough in places, i'd avoid it until later
