It is the day of your marriage.

The priest celebrates this ritual that has been around since the beginning of time, recognized worldwide as the alliance between two families in the tradition of their peoples. He is clad in the Iron Man armour as he reads the book of Corinthians in a muffled quip-infested mockery of the original text.

Then, as you fit the ring in your wife's hand, it is revealed to all: an Infinity Stone has been the means of your proposal! Aghast and with their mouths widened, the modern consumer audience that is celeberating this marriage in the name of Jesus and Nick Fury (mostly in the later's homage) raises their frown as they see an intergalactic alien coming to reclaim his magic stone as he does in the movie series.

After an extended fighting scene between cosplay armies over the ridiculous stone, both lovers are declared married. Their bond is the most sacred, that of two consumers and the brand that has replaced love, respect and faith for money, entertainment and escapism. As years later you recall the tale of your glorious battle for marriage against Thanos, your children question you, "Who was Thanos, though?" They have long moved on and embraced other products.

In that instant you realize that the product to which you've dedicated the most sacred bond in your life has lost its validity and the time has brought upon it other products for the future to consume. You've celebrated your marriage as a tribute to a God made for filthy venture capitalistic money that is no longer relevant. You've built a bond that was meant to be eternal on free marketing on a degredable product of the market.

You've celebrated the temporary and material through an eternal, sacred bond.
