Ignore the rest, philosophy is a waste of time, read Evola and Jung instead.

I came to this board looking for some good female writers in order to gain some more perspective on the human condition in a way that is impossible as a male. Frankly, I'm pretty disappointed with what I see on the /lit/ wiki.

On every "starter kit" all I see are a bunch of books made by white people. And if they're not white, then they're most definitely a man.

Shit, it took me 10 minutes of looking through these lists in order to see someone put down one of Woolf's books (pic related). And of that list, there's only 1 female writer out of 42 books!

Now don't get me wrong, I love the writings of Pynchon, Joyce, and Lawrence, as examples. I just feel like a lot of these suggestions are a product of the average 4chan /lit/ male reader agreeing with the male-centric views that summarize the viewpoints of characters (and in extension, the writer) that are inherently male.

So. Would it be possible for some of you to post some good female writers in this thread for everyone to enjoy?

Some of my favorite female writers:
* Virginia Woolf
* Maya Angelou
* Sylvia Plath
* Joan Didion
* Jane Austen
* Harper Lee Collins
* Toni Morrison

Thanks for your time.

After that, you should start getting into longer books. There are some repeat books between these charts, you don't need to read them twice. These books are really long, some in the thousand+ page range. Yet these are essentials that I think you'll enjoy reading very much

Here's a pretty wide selection. I've read every book on this chart other than 2666 and Mishima and I would say they're all good to very good, though as a rule of thumb I would say avoid the American ones other than Stoner for now. Nabokov and Conrad aren't native, so they're fine

I don't agree with you and even if I did Proust is a bad example of what you are talking about.

kek at thinking you are acquainted with music after listening to /mu/'s recommendations. Just read Stoner, Blood Meridian, Lolita, and The Stranger
then pretend to have read the rest of pic related.
