I would probably never write fantasy but I love fantastical things. It's not necessarily snobbery, I think it's just too hard to write into fantasy unless you're a huge fan that wants to build a massive universe, or a whole new language. I started Gene Wolfe and the power of his imagination seems to be unmatched in terms of worldbuilding, or at least, I certainly couldn't do it.

I think this quote is also interesting when thinking about the shadow of Tolkien.
