Why would someone that disagrees with freedom of speech come to an anonymous forum that is distinct in having free speech?

So I've been reading the Greeks slowly, and I have a question about reading order.

I've read the Iliad and The Odyssey, and I'm wondering which of the following I should move on to:

Hesiod
Sophocles
Herodotus

Or can I just jump right to Plato, who I'm most interested in?
