That I'm filled with rage at the modern world; that underlying my entire philosophy of life is contrarianism, a rejection of the modern world; that no matter how much lip-service I give to justice and the needs of the poor, I don't actually care about them; that the entire drive of my moral life is the avoid the pain of accusations and guilt; that I've made an idol out of women; that I want to be absorbed into a totalising crowd and never think for myself again; that I want to die, but not only that, I want to die in the most vulgar insulting way imaginable, slitting my throat in some public place so that I can convince myself in that last moment that the world had oppressed me and that I had no hope, so that I don't have to face to truth that I hate myself. Probably Jakob von Gunten, though my personal favourite is The Tanners. The Robber is also pretty damn superb. A School Boy's Diary and Microscripts also worth a read. Avoid Girlfriends and Ghosts or whatever that latest collection is, it's pretty shit imo.
