The book is a dystopian book set in a future where nuclear war has devastated the world. A young boy in a tribe is tasked with finding the Gard of Eden Creation Kit(GECK) which can restore the war torn earth to its former glory.


But to get the GECK he has to find the mysterious "Giver". Along his travels he befriends a giant robot he calls the Iron Giant. They reach the giver in Emerald city and find that he is giant terrifying being. But it turns out he was just a man behind a curtain giving the illusion that he was something bigger than he was.

The Giver grants the Iron Giants wish and turns him into a real boy. He goes to give the boy his GECK but the boy attacks him and kills him. It turns out that the main character was Tyler Durden all along.

And then John was a Zombie.
