Zoomers are a dominant "Hero"/"Civic" generation in the Strauss-Howe generational model. Their childhood was marked by the 'Unraveling'-Turnings of climate change activism (e.g. An inconvenient truth in 2000), the decline of american hegemony (Rise of China, 9/11-Attacks), and the acceleration of end stage capitalism (2008 crisis, failed Obama healthcare reforms, Globalisation).
They are becoming young adults in a time of constant crisis (extreme weather events like forest fires in the Amazon, Australia, California <- climate change; Nato failure in Afghanistan <- 9/11; a global pandemic; supply chain shortages; civil unrest like the BLM and Jan 6th insurrection).
History is not cyclical, but similar circumstances affect people in similar ways. This nurture in turn shapes their ideals and by extension the way they act and the way the react to outside influences.
