art is the capturing of beauty and descent of transcendental perfection of form into the visible world, and its function is to elevate the intellect of the soul in contemplation toward the source of said beauty. i.e god. use of the sensory to communicate the supra-sensual

No, /lit/ is an orthodox ('''neo''')Platonist board. The Demiurge is an emanation of the One, and can only be good.

Islam/Quran:
>anamnesis is frequently repeated in the Quran, to remember God
>God 'breathes' soul into Man, 'breathing' sounds like a continuation - the Ruhr situated in the Heart being the highest, supra-rational intellect (noetic intellect)
>verses about that 'signs' are inherent in the visible world - beauty - that inspire wonder that turns the intellect to contemplation of the divine signature behind them all, like in Phaedo where Socrates points out the cycle of day/night, opposites feeding into each other, life after death, all mentioned by the Quran
>'fitrah' is the primordial knowledge
>Eden is the realm of pure Being, and Adam falls alike to the soul that loses control of its chariot horses as spoken of in Phaedrus

What happens when you grasp that nothing is real compared to the Monad?

Matter is non-existence and the only period of determination it is granted is imprinted by the pure Being of the forms, all of which spring from the Nous. But then the Monad beyond determination and Being can only be described as Good - so what do? My delusion of separation in the ego from its transcendental unity still is cognitively present. Is the only way to truly experience henosis is to join a Traditional order like a tariqa or advaitin monastery, to seek a spiritual master?

Is the delusion of "I" in the soul's dyad in fact not a delusion and is 'tantric'/LHP, or whatever you call it, the path toward becoming a Monad in itself with its own overflowing of essence into emanation?

What should I read on this to go forward? pls help

Why is it that most of the well-known writers and thinkers who have influenced the course of history and the world were almost always involved in the occult? There are too many examples to simply brush this off as "just a coincidence" "It's just their opinion" as the hylics will say.

>Pythagoras travelled the world to learn more about esoteric thought and is said to have been initiated into Egyptian, Babylonian, and Chaldean Mystery schools
>Plato and Aristotle were initiates who took part in the initiation ceremonies of the Eleusinian Mysteries
>Alexander the great - student of Aristotle
>Aeschylus incorporated the secrets he learned from his initiation in the Eleusinian Mysteries into his plays and was threatened by execution for revealing these secrets
>Sophocles, Pindar, and Cicero were also initiates and expressed that nothing is higher or greater than the Eleusinian Mysteries, because it revealed to them what happens after death
>Chinese rulers had their "Sages"
>William Shakespeare’s ideas of the Rosicrucians and Freemasons are reflected in his plays and poetry
>Rene Descartes was heavily influenced by esoteric doctrines such as Hermeticism and spent a considerable amount of time tracing the Rosicrucians
>John Milton’s works are rooted in esoteric ideas he learned of from occultist writers such as Jacob Boehme and Robert Fludd
>Isaac Newton was a known alchemist who was probably influenced by the ideas of the Rosicrucians and it is plausible that he was part of several secret societies
>Gottfried Leibniz had a fascination with alchemy and the Kabbalah
>Jonathan Swift’s works are filled with the esoteric and the occult and was somehow able to predict the existence and orbital periods of the two moons of Mars, which were only discovered by astronomers in 1877
>W.B. Yeats’ passion for mysticism and the occult sciences was displayed through his poetry and writings, he was part of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and tried to construct a unique occult symbolic system for a proposed Celtic Mystical Order
>James Joyce read the works of Swedenborg and Paracelsus, the works of Blake, the prophecies of Joachim Abbas, the Kabbalistic works of Giordano Bruno and perhaps of Pico della Mirandola, and pursued the works of Hermes Trismegistos, Cornelius Agrippa, and Michael Sendivogius; Joyce’s works contains a number of references to the occult
>Lewis Carroll was a member of Society for Psychical Research where he explored thought transference and mind reading, and his works contain many occult symbolism and references to occult initiation

Any books that explain why the arts(painting, architecture, sculpture, even poetry) have moved on from mostly about making things that are beautiful into making ugly incomprehensible nonsense?
