I'm going to try and teach myself ancient Greek at age 25. I don't know any language other than English. Is this a fool's errand, or do I have a chance of succeeding?

I'm embarrassed to say that Chesterton is my favorite author.

Rhythm of War the 4th book in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. It's so FUCKING BORING. I don't know wtf happened because the first 2 books were fantastic. I think part of the difficulty for Sanderson is that his characters all end up becoming super heroes or demigods. It's the same problem as in his Mistborn series where what was once a tight story about daily survival becomes more philosophical musing as our protags now all can fly, have super healing, etc.

Also having one of the main 3 POV characters have a split personality is embarrassing as hell to read. One of the characters will be talking to someone then shift headmates and everyone will act like this isn't super weird as they now start addressing the protag by whichever personality they are presenting. And then there's the endless flashbacks packed with exposition. We even get pages and PAGES of flashbacks for characters who have died over 1000 pages ago.
