Virgil was a pagan and so was most of Rome, that didn't become fashionable until Rome late period or early decline. Virgil lived during the Augustine period. Also I forgot that he wrote the Aeneid, I read that in high school.

Funny you say that when it was the Renaissance that brought Feudalism in Europe, an institution that existed in Europe for a thousand years, to its knees. It also helped bring about a lot of philosophers and thinkers you probably admire as well. With the knock-on effect of French Revolutionary writing which then fueled Russian Revolutionary writing and ultimately Communism and Fascism were built on the backs of that to "continue to that revolutionary spirit against feudalism.

I've written about 10,000 words (which I whole-heartedly understand is hardly anything) over the last 2 years across 2 different mediums. All of it most appropriate for /wwoym/ level discussion, but I'm fearful about publicly posting it in case I work some aspect of it into my magnum opus that doesn't have a single word written down yet
