I think he's much more likely to publish a collection of short stories (the Atrocity Tales, all set in Eärwa at some point before the main series). The No-God books are a distant dream.

Finishing the Second Apocalypse took a lot out of our Aspect-Author. Imagine what kind of emotional and spiritual toll it would have taken to birth that monster into the world. From what I've heard, No-God isn't even on the backburner... it's just marinating in the fridge. But we Zaudunyani persist in our faith despite the hopeless odds.

riddle me this:
do you really think bakker would actually give the series some kind of "happy" or even "gray" conclusion?
either our heroes go on some madcap journey to Zeüm or Eänna and somehow, magically, find the heron spear and stop the no-god at the last second, returning the world to the granary of damnation it always was. or else, (more likely) they try, and fail, and evil wins again... so what's the point of bothering to write more books, deal with more infuriating publishers, just to end up at the same morbid and depressing conclusion?
i'm pretty sure "salt and butchery" is meant to be the End of the series. i'm pretty sure bakker's moved on to greener pastures. perhaps we must all do the same.
