Because conservatism and reactionary thoughts are more of a disposition or an attitude than a coherent system of thought. It is very hard to make a publicly acceptable right-wing philosophical system without falling into dogmatism or resorting to double standards.

Sorry if this isn't /lit enough, but I just tripped yesterday for the first time in a few years, and the first time since I got into actual respectable philosophy.

Seeing how psychedelics put you into an infantile state of mind and remind you of how your perception is just a series of choices and paths down the road that have become fixated and repressed into unconsciousness, I'm wondering how technology and the commonly perceived crisis-of-the-modern-era fits into the whole trip experience. Is there an actual, numenal crisis occurring here in the present day, or somewhere along the line, did I make choices wrt my ego that have set me up to believe that this is so?

Is there anything by Ellul or similar writers that would be insightful in this regard?
