Before you dwelve into the demonic Pokemon Gu world of Reverend Insanity, let me mention a few things about it and xianxia in general.

Firstly, no one actually reads it. If you go to Goodreads you'll see the book series has only got less than a hundred reviews, only a handful of them written reviews.

Secondly, all of xianxia read in the west is self-published of webnovels. Due to their poor quality, the lack of originality, and the overall lack of any meaningful complex story. You can check out the following link for more information on this topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasywriters/comments/4davdu/what_do_you_think_it_would_take_to_get_a_xianxia/

Thirdy, all of wuxia/xianxia is comparable to the herbivore males fenomenon in Japan. Poor beta loser men read these books as a way to escape their miserable lives. Protagonists in these stories are, without an exception, Gary Stues who can do anything, are immortal and every woman in the universe wants to sit on their dicks. For more info about this topic check out: https://www.royalroad.com/forums/thread/107478

Forthly, RI is an unfinished work and will never be finished. No, that you are going to read something that will never be completed: https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/did-reverend-insanity-end.124313/

Fifthly, Xianxia has a lots of internal problems with the very logic on which it operates. It lacks any consistency or logic. https://www.reddit.com/r/rational/comments/b6py6a/the_irrationality_of_xianxia_settings_even_when/

Sixthly, Not all of RI is translated so you WILL encounter bad machine translations. Even the professionally translated bits won't fix the poor source material so whenever you read it you will feel like you are reading a low quality fanfiction written by a middleschooler. You may read an extract here (not machine translated, be free to pick any other chapter): https://novelfull.com/reverend-insanity/chapter-733-recognizing-one039s-own-ordinariness.html

Seventhly, Not even people in /sffg/ read this shit. Pic related.

So in the essence what you have here is unfinished, low quality, possible machine translated, literary chinese-anime with loser beta males as its target audience. Now you are dive in to this type of "literature" or you can always read critically acclaimed, traditionally published works by authors like Gene Wolfe, Tolkien, Bakker, Le Guin, etc.

Extract from chapter 733:
>Unfamiliar face.
>Fang Yuan activated this newly obtained mortal killer move.
>Almost all the Gu worms required for this killer move were essentially purchased from treasure yellow heaven by Hu Immortal land spirit, while the last remaining portions were refined by the hairy men.

You have been warned. There are two or three people who actively promote Reverend Insanity or Cradle here. I'm just making sure you know what you are getting into.
All of this applies to ANY wuxia/xianxia and Cradle. Do not be fooled.
