Before you dwelve into the demonic Pokemon Gu world of Reverend Insanity, let me mention a few things about it and xianxia in general.

Firstly, no one actually reads it. If you go to Goodreads you'll see the book series has only got less than a hundred reviews, only a handful of them written reviews.

Secondly, all of xianxia read in the west is self-published of webnovels. Due to their poor quality, the lack of originality, and the overall lack of any meaningful complex story. So in the essence what you have here is unfinished, low quality, possible machine translated, literary chinese-anime with loser beta males as its target audience. Now you are dive in to this type of "literature" or you can always read critically acclaimed, traditionally published works by authors like Gene Wolfe, Tolkien, Bakker, Le Guin, etc.
