I didn't think there was anything wrong with Sanderson his writing, as you said he isn't spectacular but I liked his plot progressions and climaxes.
It's just that I had to drop his works because I started imaging his face on the characters.
That mental image was just too much for me, also every time I turned a page for a moment it was like his face was on the paper.

But tell me how should I continue reading a book when I start seeing that face turn up in my head and the pages.
It was never the writing that made me drop it.
