that's what I'm doing.
I learned italian as my third language and in the process I learned how to learn languages as well.
I simply study by consuming media.
Every french film I watch, I do so with french subtitles.
Every french book I read, I do so in italian and check a translation when necessary (not all the time, just when it's a word that keeps coming up or that seems key to understanding an idea, otherwise I make the meaning of the word through other words).
Ultimately, when it comes to language learning, the only true way to properly acquiring that language is forgeting about the language itself and focusing on the content, it must be a content that interests you, that you are passionate or at least curious about, then you immerse yourself and you acquire the language without even realizing it.
It's how babies do it, but of course is harder for us because we don't have 10 people around spamming us with the language we want to learn, so we just have to put some effort into consuming media from that country.

what are some well written and entertaining biographies of /lit/ figures?
looking for biographies of heidegger, kant (read the one by De Quincey and though short, decent), hegel, nietzsche, schopenhauer, joyce, dante (preferably written by an italian).
specify people you want a biography of.

it's amazing how a single word can scream "I have not read the guy I'm talking shit about" so accurately.
