I think there is a point in everyone's life where they pick up nihilism and pessimism for mere interest as they are in a low position, only to fully subscribe to it and blindly believe in it to further justify their misery.

Although it's understandable, especially since there are very good arguments to be made to be bitter and angry, I also think this is mainly used by a certain demographic. And that is people who are depressed and don't want to fix themselves, much less try to improve the situation, or even find a way to alleviate such issues.

I was a teen when I first picked up my first book on pessimism, and from then on I was convinced of a life unfulfilled and ultimately meaningless. But as I grow older and experience more of life and face the absurdity, even though it is pointless, I find myself feeling good.

I was in a lowly position. Instead of reveling in filth, I got up and did something about it. I recognize the absurdity and consistent monotony of existence, but that is what the human experience is. And in turn, I slowly cared less of being bitter and angry, as I recognized that being that way was a bigger waste of time than it would be to do something that brought me a sense of ease.

I then look around at others who subscribe to pessimism and nihilism, and it stereotypically is people who don't want to change or try. Or some just for the sake of being edgy.

What do you anons think? Is pessimism and nihilism for people who don't want to take accountability for themselves, or is there something more to this?
