Have you considered Sade? His libertine characters happily embrace a sort of naturalist hedonist materialism where we're all just bags of stuff with urges and he has, in Justine for example, people raping little boys and stabbing them to death in the meanwhile, describing their own acts as perfectly justifiable in a sort of psychopathic cheerfully clinical way. There's also a boarding school headmaster with a doctor friend who perform a sort of dissection on the living daughter of said headmaster and marvel in the scientific intricacies after which they proceed to fuck her uterus through an incision in her belly until death follows if I recall correctly.

Sade has this distanced Enlightenment rationality approach going on with regard to all the horrors he dreams up. There's this revelling in the "nothing but flesh", an almost mechanic approach to life and its pleasures that may very well interest you. I recommend The New Justine.

Today i found out that there is an underground 1989 issue of Marquise de Sade's "Juliette" translated in my native language. I wated hard, and bought it immediately! Those who read de Sade more closely say that this is his best work, better even then "120 days of Sodom".

Its also been prized by some philosophy professors for its in depth view of morality and practical amorality.

But i have to ask: did anyone read it? What am i supposed to expect? Will it be just literary snuff or gore porn? Or is it of serious literary values?

Anyone into de Sade here?
