What book will help me come to terms with the fact that I utterly wasted my youth?

Books like Notes from Underground, No Longer Human, Steppenwolf or whatever are usually recommended described as books about and for those who reject, or are rejected by, society and who feel bad about it.
Are there books like this, but written from a position of genuine detachment instead of bitterness?
I have always felt completely alienated, and have known since the start that it would always be like this. I don't really hate people for being "normal" or myself for being "different", and I don't seek much if anything from the world, but I am perplexed as to which path I am meant to take, and I wonder if there are any books that explore this kind of mindset.
Solitude and alienation born not from bitterness and spite, but from a more fundamental form of pure alienation, devoid of any underlying desire for normality.

Start hanging with londonfrog and become pic related
I can't belive you unironically (I guess?) dropped out. I'm also on the clift. I think someone mentally ill like me just isnt made for university, I can't take it, I'm just too neurotic and lamotrigine doesn't make me stable enough. I tried abilify and it was making me feel a little better but the secondary effects were to heavy so I stopped taking them.
Should I give up and try SSRI, /r9-... I mean, /lit/?

Are we in a cultural nadir? Has there been anything in the past 20 years that even touches Rilke's Duino Elegies? Why does it seem no one's capable of creating really profound and shattering works of art anymore? Is art only possible in solitude?

Who are some writers/philosophers/poets who had an indomitable love of life even in their despair? Leopardi comes to mind.
